CHALLENGE: Tamper Evident Label Needs to Survive Extreme Application Environment

An engine manufacturer came to TLP to come up with a tamper evident identification label that could be printed on-demand at their facility. The labels needed to be over-laminated to protect the graphics against chemicals and abrasion while maintaining their tamper evidence on both painted and plastic surfaces. They must survive a high-pressure wash down, remain on the surface for the life of the engine, and be legible through abrasion and chemical exposure. Talk about a harsh environment application!

SOLUTION: Custom VOID Construction Tested & Approved

The team at TLP was quick to respond. We came up with a custom tamper indicating label stock that provides a VOID message when removal is attempted. The custom adhesive is very aggressive, working on both low surface energy (plastic) and painted metal, will survive a power wash test, and will still produce the necessary VOID pattern if the label is removed. The label is variably printed at the customer site and is overlaminated after printing, adding an extra layer of protection and durability over the on-demand variable print.
