Rep. Brandtjen Stops by TLP
Take Your Legislator to Work Day was Monday, April 15th Wisconsin Representative Brandtjen spent part of her morning at TLP participating in Take Your Legislator to Work Day with Patrick Young
The Take Your Legislator to Work Day campaign is an opportunity for employees with disabilities to invite their legislator(s) to visit their workplace to show first-hand the power of community-integrated employment for people with disabilities.
Patrick, who has been with TLP for over 10 years, has hosted several members of our local government over the years, from former Governor, Scott Walker, to Representative Brandtjen in this latest event.
According to APSE, Employment First Employment for All, the average visit consists of a tour, overview of the employee’s day, meet and greet with co-workers and supervisors, and a brief discussion on the employee’s own experience working within their community.
Shown in photos below, Patrick spent time showing Representative Brandtjen the print process, introducing her to several members of the TLP team and challenged her to a box making competition. With several years, and over one million boxes, under his belt, Patrick triumphed yet again!
