TLP 2008 William Pierce Award recipient!

2nd chance classroomFebruary 19, 2009
Tailored Label Products was awarded the 2008 William Pierce Award by the Menomonee Falls School District for their commitment to the Second Chance Program, a non-traditional learning and employment opportunity for at-risk students. It is another positive way for students to develop life skills. The students enroll for a two-year study. They rotate to four different manufacturers, working a six-hour day followed by two hours of classroom instruction. The employer agrees to pay the wage for an eight-hour day in addition to an annual fee to cover the cost of the program administration. TLP is currently mentoring it’s 3rd student.

Due to economic challenges facing the community, the 2nd Chance classroom provided by a local manufacturer was discontinued (a local plant closing)…so our team stepped up and helped design and make available a full time classroom for the 14 local participants and their instructor.
