Emissions Label – CARB Label

What is a CARB Label?

California Air Resources Board (CARB) identifies a product that is emissions-compliant within the state of California. CARB dedicates itself to maintaining optimal air quality.

What Kind Material is Needed For Labeling Finished Goods?

There is no set requirement or any restrictions on the label material.  The provisions state that the label doesn’t require a logo but it must have the following:  the name of the fabricator, the date of production and a short statement to indicate Phase 2 emissions are being met in the finished good.

VECI Label – Emissions Label

Products labeled as CARB compliant include evaluation scores from two different emissions performance tests: emissions affecting global warming (refrigerants, CO2, N2O, CH4) and the smog-forming compounds within emissions (NOx, NMOG, HC). CARB labels list both of these scores from one to 10 in severity on compliant labels. CARB also defines design parameters for their labels to ensure their legitimacy.
