Jean Tabbert, Tailored Label Product's Sr. Accountant, celebrated 25 years of dedicated service with the company at the end of February 2009.

TLP 2008 William Pierce Award recipient!
February 19, 2009
Tailored Label Products was awarded the 2008 William Pierce Award by the Menomonee Falls School District for their commitment to the Second Chance Program, a non-traditional learning and employment opportunity for at-risk students. It is another positive way for students to develop life skills. The students enroll for a two-year study. They rotate to four different manufacturers, working a six-hour day followed by two hours of classroom instruction. The employer agrees to pay the wage for an eight-hour day in addition to an annual fee to cover the cost of the program administration. TLP is currently mentoring it’s 3rd student.
Due to economic challenges facing the community, the 2nd Chance classroom provided by a local manufacturer was discontinued (a local plant closing)…so our team stepped up and helped design and make available a full time classroom for the 14 local participants and their instructor.

Biotech Labels
A provider of custom-engineered labeling solutions offers a vial label designed to survive extreme temperatures. TLP-937 is a label material that the company engineered for small vials containing DNA that are dropped in liquid nitrogen five seconds after label application. The labels contain vital information that must be transferred to larger containers. Because some labels can lift or flag off when applied to small, curved surfaces, the company designed this label material to be thinner so that it adheres better to the vial. The label’s shape is designed so that the center portion adheres to the vial and the ends of the label stick together to form a tab on the end. This tab is imprinted with the critical information that needs to remain with the DNA when being transferred to the new container. Frosting and condensation can also negatively impact a label’s performance, so this label material was tested in multiple extreme temperatures, from room temperature to –70º, –20º, and 4º F, in liquid nitrogen and dry ice.
